We’re hiring: Pharmacist
Join a pharmacy where healthcare is not treated like retail, and where your medical expertise isn't wasted behind a counter.

Most pharmacies have turned into retail dispensers favouring speed and sales. We're building ones where they lead patient care.
Provide real medication guidance, build lasting patient relationships and play a direct role in growing the pharmacy itself.
Run a local pharmacy with its own identity and real autonomy, supported by a network that handles operations, systems and infrastructure.
What happens when you stop running pharmacies like shops?
The pharmacy industry in Belgium is splitting in two.
On one side, corporate chains are buying up pharmacies and running them like retail.
They prioritise prescription volume, replace pharmacists with cheaper assistants, and reduce patients to quick transactions.
On the other side, independent pharmacists drown in admin, logistics and financial pressure.
No time or support is left for the care they trained to deliver.
PharmaUnited offers a different model.
We only employ licensed pharmacists for patient-facing work. That costs more… and we do it anyway. Because a skilled pharmacist noticing that a cardiac patient's new prescription could kill them is not something you delegate to save money.
Our pharmacists counsel patients through benzodiazepine and methadone dependency. They are often the first person a patient confides in about addiction, mental health or a condition they haven't yet raised with their doctor.

This is healthcare - not retail.
We never transform our pharmacies into chain outlets. Every pharmacy in our familial network keeps its own name, identity and matches its local community.
We’ll ask you one question: “How would you run this pharmacy if it were your own?” And when you tell us good. Do that.
Behind the scenes, we handle the admin, purchasing, compliance and logistics.
This removes the operational burden that would usually crush independent pharmacists.
That’s how one of our pharmacies doubled in revenue without selling more products, but by earning real trust and practicing real pharmaceutical care.
Our Purpose.
Our purpose is to preserve and strengthen the role of the community pharmacist in Belgium, by building pharmacies where the vocation is practised as healthcare, not managed as retail.

Your role: Pharmacist
Be the pharmacist an entire community relies on for real healthcare.

You’ll be the pharmacist customers see, speak to and trust.
You’ll review every prescription with the clinical judgement and understanding that the side effects you catch directly affect someone's health. You don't just hand over medication without a second thought. You’ll explain it, question it when needed, and make sure patients leave more informed than when they walked in.
This is not a dispensing role with a fancier title.
Sometimes customers will trust you with questions they haven’t even asked their doctor. You’ll lead patient care, choose how to approach consultations, build lasting relationships with the community, and shape how the pharmacy develops over time.
You're trusted with that freedom - and expected to use it.
Depending on your experience, you may carry full regulatory and clinical accountability for the site as the responsible pharmacist. That means the pharmacy runs as if it were your own. When you do this role well, patients choose your pharmacy. Not because it's the closest, but because they trust you.

What your work looks like day to day:
Patient Guidance
Consult patients on medication use, interactions and treatment plans - including sensitive issues like addiction, mental health and chronic conditions
Clinical Oversight
Review prescriptions and flag clinical risks that other pharmacies might miss
Healthcare Services
Deliver clinical services such as vaccinations, medication reviews and follow-up consultations
Pharmacy Leadership
Help develop and grow the pharmacy: services, product range, local positioning and patient trust
5 Great Reasons to join PharmaUnited
What we offer the pharmacists who take patient care as seriously as we do.
Become the person a community trusts with their health
You’ll advise customers on the right medication and unknown side effects, counsel patients through addiction, and practice real healthcare.
Professional autonomy with real support behind you
You lead your pharmacy your way. Admin, purchasing, compliance and logistics are all handled so your time is spent on care. You’re not only part of a local pharmacy team but also connected to our whole network.
A genuine path to greater responsibility and ownership
Grow into the responsible pharmacist for your site, and build toward real ownership through equity and share packages.
Competitive salary with strong benefits
Your package reflects the clinical judgement and accountability this role carries alongside fringe benefits.
A familial team that genuinely invests in its people
We closed a pharmacy for an employee's religious holiday. One of our pharmacists commutes an hour each way by choice. That says more than any slogan ever could.

Licensed pharmacist recognised in Belgium
You'll carry clinical responsibility for real patients with real health risks. Your experience is the foundation everything else is built on.
Experience working in a pharmacy environment
You've worked behind the counter and understand the rhythm, pressure and reality of patient-facing pharmaceutical care.
Clinical sharpness
You think about what you're dispensing, not just what's on the prescription. You question interactions, flag risks, side effects and take the time to understand a patient's full situation before handing over medication.
Excellent communicator, not just a dispenser
You explain treatments in language patients actually understand. You listen to what they're not saying. You build the kind of trust where people come to you before they go to their doctor.
Ownership mentality
You treat the pharmacy as if it were your own. You take initiative, care about how things are done, and hold yourself to a higher standard than what's required. If money is your biggest motivator, this won't be the right fit.
Open, honest and collaborative
You communicate directly with patients, your team and the PharmaUnited founders. You raise issues early, share ideas and work with people rather than around them.

Founder Story
From the Corporate Side of Pharma to The Counter
Laurent didn't start behind a pharmacy counter. He started on the other side: as a commercial engineer working in the corporate pharmaceutical industry. But the more he worked with pharmacies, the more he saw what was broken. Independent pharmacists were overwhelmed. Corporate chains were stripping the profession down to retail.
And the pharmacists in between - the ones who actually cared - had nowhere to go.
So he built a digital platform from scratch to solve the operational problems he'd seen firsthand. Then he bought his first pharmacy.
"Il faut imaginer trop pour réaliser assez."
With Marleen
His partner and a pharmacist herself - they did something most people in the industry said was contradictory: they grew the business while raising the standard of care.
Their first pharmacy nearly doubled in revenue.
Not through more sales, but through more trust. Today they run 4 pharmacies, hold a wholesale distribution license that fewer than five pharmacies in Belgium have, and are building toward a network of 24.
"Be the architect of your own life by being the best possible version of yourself"
But ask Laurent what drives him, and he won't talk about revenue or expansion.
He'll tell you: "If money is your biggest motivator, we're going to have a short relationship."
Laurent and Marleen lead the way most people wish they'd been led: with trust, directness and a genuine belief that pharmacists do their best work when they're treated like professionals, not employees.
